Kicking Off the Year with Astrophotography
One of my personal goals for this year is to level up my astrophotography game. I want to capture a wider variety of celestial scenes, hone my editing skills, and master new techniques for framing and capturing the night sky just the way I envision it. It’s an exciting journey, and I’m eager to see how much I can improve.
To kick things off, I ventured out to photograph the Moon in conjunction with Venus—a beautiful pairing that promised a great start to the year. While I managed to capture the moment, I realized I had chosen a less-than-ideal location. Light pollution and obstructions made it challenging to achieve the clarity and impact I was hoping for.
It’s a bit frustrating, but also a valuable lesson: planning is everything in astrophotography. Next time, I’ll scout a better spot ahead of time, ensuring an unobstructed view and minimal interference. Despite the setbacks, I’m proud of this first attempt because every photo, successful or not, is a step toward improvement.
Stay tuned as I continue exploring the cosmos and refining my craft. The sky’s the limit—literally!
